Cultural Center Shows + Events

January 9th - February 14th
We’re thrilled to kick off the new year at the Cultural Center with Raw Artistry by Dr. Daniel D. Bowen. The opening reception will take place on January 9 from 4–7 pm, with additional hours on January 10 from 10 am–2 pm. The exhibition will continue every Friday from 4–7 pm and Saturday from 10 am–2 pm through February 14.
Each weekend will feature a reception with a unique lineup of local guest artists, musicians, artist talks, and special programming—making every visit a one-of-a-kind experience. Guest artists include Grace Sammoury, Molly Porter, Dewayne Anthony, and Angie Pickman, with collaborations alongside community organizations such as United Way, the Atchison Area Community Foundation, the Farmers Market, and more.
Dan’s work spans a wide range of styles and media, and each piece comes with a story you won’t want to miss. All sales from the exhibition will directly support the Atchison Art Association’s scholarship fund as well as that weekend’s featured guest organization. This is truly a show worth visiting again and again—you never know what inspiring moment you might catch.

Cultural Center will return to regular hours Feb 19th.
Thursdays, Fridays, & Saturdays 10-4pm

2026 Community Showcase - Now at the Cultural Center
The 2026 Community Showcase returns this February at the Cultural Center for the Arts, bringing together artists of all ages and experience levels to celebrate the creativity of our community. This year’s showcase places a strong emphasis on arts education and hands-on experiences, creating opportunities for visitors to engage more deeply with both the artwork and the artists behind it.
The opening reception will highlight artist demonstrations, performance art, and artist talks, inviting the community to experience art as a living, active process. February also marks the launch of our 2026 art workshop series, which will coincide with the Community Showcase and extend learning opportunities throughout the duration of the exhibition. Together, these programs reflect our commitment to access, education, and meaningful creative experiences for our community.
