19th Century Atchison Architecture with Ted Peltzer.
May 31- July 30
The development of Atchison was influenced by public figures of national and international renown giving our buildings various tastes and styles. Others, such as land speculations, bridge builders, railroad constructors architects and bankers also left their imprint. The Atchison that one sees today is a reflection of these varied influences and demonstrations not only to the many different architectural styles of the time, but also the dissimilar backgrounds of the people who came here.
In 1976 Ted Peltzer and the Atchison Art Association realized a need for a permanent record of buildings and homes in Atchison's rich history. This exhibit shows the different styles of victorian architecture in and around Atchison Kansas in 1976.
