ABOUT US
The Dharma House School of Yoga is provided by the Atchison Art Association, a non-profit organization. Our mission is to cultivate and develop yoga teachers educated in the deeper traditions of yoga with an interdisciplinary approach that transforms individuals and communities through the light of yoga.
It is important to understand the Dharma House objectives, as they contain a strong inner work component. Each of these objectives is first developed in you and from that point, you are able to bring them to your future students. It is through direct experience that we transform ourselves and become equipped to guide and teach others.
Our instructors, Christy Harris, E-RYT200, RYT500, YACEP, AYS, and Deborah Geiger, RYT 500, CYT are both Yoga Alliance registered RYT500 yoga instructors with additional training in Ayurveda and yoga therapeutics. We are committed to your education and personal growth and offer our guidance, instruction, and the personal attention needed for you to successfully complete your training.
Dharma House School of Yoga is held at LifePoint Yoga Center at 2020 Raccoon Road in Robinson, Kansas. Located on a working organic farm in rural Kansas, LifePoint offers the opportunity for students to leave daily life and immerse themselves in a pastoral rural setting to absorb the teachings presented. Generally, students bring their lunch during teacher training. LifePoint has a small kitchen equipped with a stove, microwave, and refrigerator for your convince. Lodging is available through the Country Cabins or Best Western, approximately 12 minutes away, in Hiawatha, Kansas.
REQUIREMENTS
While those new to yoga are not excluded from applying, we highly recommend applicants have at least two years of practice. If your yoga practice doesn’t meet this requirement, please contact us directly. Dharma House serves many areas without access to yoga, in these cases, we can be very flexible while preparing you for success in this program.
Required texts for this course (many students find used books on Amazon).
